Five Reasons Why Owning a Business is Better than 9-5 Jobs

Very often children are told to study hard because there is no free ticket to landing a good job that pays off in the long run. Whilst education is fundamental to growth, development and success, many people of this generation are starting to weigh down the advantages between earning a salary of fixed digits from a regular job and being the boss of their own company.

This is turning into some serious dilemma where career starters have to decide even on the days before their graduation.

The emergence of the Internet and various social media platforms has opened the doors to unlimited online business opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs. According to the latest e-commerce statistics conducted in the UK, roughly 95% of purchases and other service transactions will be made online by the year 2040.

Nonetheless, what is good for the individual is still debatable as we all have different takes when it comes to deciding whether we go for business or job.

If you are torn between these two separate career paths, allow me to help you sort a few reasons why starting your own business can make more sense than going to a regular 9-to-5 job.

You are your own boss.

What else could be better than being the boss? You make the rules and schedules that will work for you and your business. You don’t wait for superiors to say “Yes” to your ideas. You are open for suggestions but you don’t take commands. You are not even afraid to get fired because you are the one who hires and fires your people.

In your own business, you are the one responsible for making decisions, running a team, and satisfying the clients. This way helps you work on your ideas immediately and gives value to your gift of intelligence and creativity.

There are no time restrictions.

On one hand, the usual 9-to-5 jobs will require you to complete 8 working hours or even longer whilst owning a business, on the other hand, allows you to work whenever you want. You don’t have to worry about coming to work late and you can leave the office anytime. Who cares when you are the boss?

You have unlimited income opportunity.

Fixed salaries are not the name of the game when you run a business. Chances are that your income varies every month, depending on the overall status of your sales. As long as you have good investors, reputable business loans providers and a high volume of sales, owning a business can give you an opportunity to earn more money that is not limited to a fixed amount.

There is no age limit in business.

Most of the time, employees will have to retire from work once they have reached their 60s.  When you have your own business, you do not have to worry about being too old for the job.  You can put up a business either in your college or senior years. There is no specific rule that says people have to start or stop running a business at a certain age. Entrepreneurs are free to dedicate their time in the business as long as they are healthy enough to do so.

There are no waiting games.

You do not have to wait for holidays to go on a vacation or receive a cash bonus. By owning a business, you can always go on a trip and get a much-needed break from too much work whenever you feel like it.

Lots of salaried employees are having a hard time getting their leaves approved by their superiors. Taking leaves might even cause cut payouts sometimes, which you will never experience when you have your own business.
